Students at both campuses enjoyed a range of pastoral activities at the end of Term 2.
In Week 19, Year 7 students went to their Camp in Collaroy, Sydney, where they took part in a series of activities and challenges that encouraged teamwork and helped the students to get to know each other a little better. The students enjoyed activities such as high ropes, wall climbing, running, laser tag, and problem solving games.
While Year 7 was away on camp, Year 8 had two days of a teamwork and leadership program called Coastlife. The program is designed to develop trust and encourage cohesive teamwork through a range of activities. Activities varied from physically to mentally challenging, requiring strategy, creativity, and, of course, teamwork.
Year 9 spent a transition day at the Isabella Campus on Wednesday 25 June to prepare for next year and get a taste of the classes available at Isabella. The day involved tours, classes, presentations, and a reflection liturgy.
Year 9 also participated in a range of workshops, including the yLead program and a Careers session.
Week 20 was a chance for Year 10 to reflect and also to look forward to their College years. A course preview day and senior course counselling sessions allowed students to consider their options for Years 11 and 12, while a couple of Reflection Days let students unwind before the holiday break.
The highlight of the Reflection Days was a visit from Sam Clear (pictured), who travelled over 15,600km on foot through South America, Central America, North America, on train through Siberia, and on foot again from Moscow to the Western most point of Spain, in order to spread the message of Christian unity. His story was remarkably inspirational for our Year 10 students.

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”
With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
