MacKillop in the
Community

What do we do to support our community?

As Tuggeranong's only systemic secondary school, St Mary MacKillop College seeks to play an important role in the wider community.

On top of MacKillop’s fundraising and charity efforts, the College reaches out to the surrounding systemic primary schools, community groups, and sporting clubs.

MacKillop supports these schools and groups by providing student assistance, sharing its facilities, running professional development, sharing the expertise of its teachers, and running sports clinics and carnivals.

Some of the groups with which MacKillop has built links include the Australian Catholic University, Calwell Swans AFL Club, and GWS Giants. In addition, MacKillop enjoys a very healthy relationship with the systemic primary schools.

If you are seeking to build a connection with the College, please contact the Community Project Officer, Mr Dan Ryall, on 6209 0100.

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
