The College has held three big events to promote enrolments for Year 7 and Year 11 2026.
On Monday 5 May, the College had its largest-ever attendance at the Year 7 2026 Open Night, with more than 1900 guests visiting the school across two sessions. The College Principal, Mr Michael Lee, presented to prospective students and families, before MacKillop students took our guests on tours of the campus. For the second year running, this event also included a special 'Teach at MacKillop' section of stalls for those interested in working at MacKillop.
On Friday 9 May, more than 550 Year 6 students from across Canberra (and a few from NSW) tested out the Padua Campus for Try MacKillop Day. Our guests had the opportunity to experience the energy and possibilities of high school and to see what classes at MacKillop are like.
On Wednesday 14 May, the St Peter’s Campus hosted the Year 11 2026 Open Night in conjunction with the College Careers Expo. Students were able to access a range of stalls where they could talk with universities, CIT, employment groups, apprenticeships centres, trades, and industry representatives in order to understand their options and opportunities in the future. With those opportunities in mind, Year 10 students were also able to visit curriculum stalls to chat about courses and to plan out their senior studies for the next two years.
The College thanks the massive team of staff and students who organised and ran these three huge events, as well as the external organisations who contributed. The feedback from visitors was extremely positive.
For students who wish to enrol in Year 7 or Year 11 at MacKillop, please be aware that applications are due on the following dates:

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”
With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
