Jacqueline Heffernan announced as new Principal

Leadership Announcement

Catholic Education have announced that Jacqueline Heffernan will be MacKillop's new College Principal from the beginning of the 2026 school year.

Jacqueline, who is currently Principal of Carroll College, Broulee, has over 28 years of educational experience within the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

The full announcement, which was made this afternoon by the Executive Director of Catholic Education, David de Carvalho, is available here.

The College congratulates Jacqueline on her appointment and we look forward to working with her from 2026 and beyond!

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
