Kaydence wins ACT ASbA of the Year

The 2025 ACT Training Awards

St Mary MacKillop College is thrilled to announce that Year 12 student Kaydence Storm has been named as the 2025 ACT Australian School-based Apprentice of the Year.

Kaydence received the award at the 2025 ACT Training Awards, which were held at the National Museum of Australia on Thursday 11 September.

Kaydence, who is completing a Certificate II in Community Pharmacy through the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, worked on her ASBA two days per week throughout Year 11 and 12, which involved one day of work with Life Pharmacy Group and one day of study at CIT.

After gaining enough points to graduate in early Term 3, Kaydence switched all of her attention to the apprenticeship, taking it on full time.

“It still feels unreal that I was able to go to an event like that and to win the award.” Kaydence said.

“I think health is really important, and doing my apprenticeship has been a cool way to get into the health industry, other than the usual route of university.”

MacKillop had another winner at the ACT Training Awards, with Jaharn Mundy-Drazevich from the Class of 2024 receiving the ACT Aboriginal and  Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award. Jaharn has completed a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance and Community Services and is now undertaking a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs and Community Services.

In addition to this, James McIntyre from the Class of 2019 finished as the runner-up for ACT Apprentice of the Year.

Congratulations to Kaydence, Jaharn, and James!
