Year 10 students took up the opportunity to dress up and celebrate the upcoming achievement of their Year 10 Certificate at the annual Spring Zing on Friday 19 September.
Held at the Woden Southern Cross Club, the Spring Zing involved music, fancy dress, dancing, food, drink, photo booths, a lolly bar, and lots of fun!
The event had a theme of ‘Shine like the stars’, which gave students the freedom to wear a wide range of fancy-dress costumes. Some chose to dress like Hollywood actors on a red carpet, while other costumes included F1 drivers, superheroes, characters from Sesame Street, famous musicians, aliens, sports stars, and Disney characters, among others.
After arriving at the venue, students got straight into the spirit of it by posing at the photo booth, partaking in the food and drink, and hitting the dance floor, which stayed active throughout the entire evening.
The College congratulates its Year 10 students for the energy they brought to the occasion, their good behaviour throughout the night, and the efforts they made with their costumes.
Thanks to the Year 10 Coordinators, Ms Caroline Winslade and Mr Matt Crowe, for organising a great event, as well as the other staff who dressed to impress and gave up their Friday night to supervise.
It was a great evening for everyone involved!

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
