Swimming Carnival 2026

Successful day for Meup Meup and Ngadyung

Meup Meup and Ngadyung were the successful Houses at the College Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 25 February.

Meup Meup continued their amazing run in the pool, taking out their fifth Championship in a row, while Ngadyung’s participation and enthusiasm clinched their seventh Spirit Cup – the most of any House at the Swimming Carnival.

Despite the threat of rain, the College was blessed with a warm summer’s day at the Dickson Aquatic Centre.

The day did indeed start brightly, with students belting out their House songs with a tremendous energy that they were able to uphold from the first minute to the last.

While the battle for the Championship took place in the pool, students were also able to participate in a number of novelty events or could donate to Caritas in order to relax in the baby pool or cool off in the water park.

Just before the final relays, the annual ‘MacKillop Marlin’ event was held, with Lily Young and Darcy Davis (both of Year 11) each defending their title at the end of two hotly contested races.

The carnival was well-attended, with students dressing in House colours to the carnival’s ‘Tropical’ theme, and they are congratulated for their teamwork, spirit, participation, and displays of athleticism, which contributed to an enjoyable day for all.

Thank you to the staff – particularly the Sports Facilitator, Mr Will Anderson – who played a crucial role in the carnival’s success.

It was another fantastic MacKillop event!
