The College requires parents/carers to provide a written explanation of their child’s absence from school. If students will be absent or late, parents/carers can notify the College in advance, or on the day of the absence, by contacting the Absentee Line.
The number is: 0429 131 463
Parents/carers are asked to provide their child’s name, the date of the absence, and the reason.
Please note that this service is for text messages (SMS) only. This number cannot be contacted by phone call.
In the event that a student is absent or late to school and contact from a parent/carer has not been received, the College will send an SMS message to the first listed parent/carer. Parents/carers are asked to respond by text message with the appropriate information.
Alternatively, students can bring a signed note from their parent/carer upon their first day back at school.
Emails will be sent at the end of each week to any families who have not explained the absence of their child.
Receiving this information will allow the College attendance records to be updated, with the explanation of the absence documented.
Important note: Absences that are unexplained after 10 days will be considered ‘unjustified absences’. Students in Years 11 and 12 with six (6) or more unjustified absences from a subject in a semester will void the unit of work for that subject for that semester.
