Camps and activities for Years 7-10
The final weeks of Term 2 were filled with opportunities for students to challenge themselves, strengthen friendships, and celebrate a successful semester.
Following the completion of assessment and the commencement of holidays for senior students, a range of programs, camps, and excursions were organised for students in Years 7 to 10, providing a positive and engaging conclusion to the term.
In Week 19, MacKillop’s youngest cohort visited Collaroy for the Year 7 Camp, where they embraced a variety of activities designed to build confidence, leadership, and teamwork. From high ropes and vertical challenges to archery and the giant swing, students stepped outside their comfort zones while developing new friendships and strengthening existing ones.
At the same time, Year 8 students participated in a two-day program focused on personal growth and wellbeing. The program featured the Rock and Water initiative, Coastlife-led team challenges, and a First Aid and CPR presentation delivered by ACTWELL, equipping students with valuable life skills and practical knowledge.
For Year 9, the focus was firmly on the future. Students spent two days at the St Peter’s Campus taking part in the YLead Program and a transition experience designed to support their move to Isabella Plains in 2027. The activities encouraged students to build confidence and prepare for the next stage of their school journey.
Week 20 saw Year 10 students travel to Sydney to take part in the Urban Challenge, an interactive adventure that required teams to navigate the city while completing a series of engaging activities. As part of the experience, students also contributed to the community through either the Cook4Good or Our Big Kitchen programs, preparing nutritious meals for people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Back on campus, students participated in Reflection Day and Course Counselling sessions as they began planning for senior studies.
These experiences provided valuable opportunities for students to learn, connect, and grow beyond the classroom. Congratulations to all students for the enthusiasm and positivity they brought to each activity, and thank you to the staff who generously gave their time to support and supervise the programs.
It was a rewarding and memorable conclusion to a busy Term 2!
