The College held three enrolment events throughout May to promote the wide range of opportunities available to students at MacKillop in 2027 and beyond.

On 11 May, the Year 7 2027 Open Night was held at the Padua Campus. The new College Principal, Mrs Jacqueline Heffernan, presented to prospective students and families, before MacKillop students took our guests on tours of the campus. The event also included a special 'Teach at MacKillop' section of stalls for those interested in working at MacKillop.

On 15 May, more than 500 Year 6 students from Canberra and NSW spent a day at the Padua Campus for Try MacKillop Day. This event gave our visitors the chance to experience a day of high school and to see what the energy and classes at MacKillop are like.

On 20 May, the St Peter’s Campus hosted the Year 11 2027 Open Night and Careers Expo. Students were able to access a range of stalls where they could talk with universities, CIT, employment groups, apprenticeship centres, trades, and industry representatives in order to understand their options and opportunities in the future. With those opportunities in mind, Year 10 students were also able to visit curriculum stalls to chat about courses and to plan out their senior studies for the next two years. The Careers Expo is one of the most valuable events for our senior students in the planning of their pathways after Year 12. 

The College thanks all the staff and students who organised and ran these three big events, as well as the external organisations who contributed. The feedback from visitors was extremely positive.

For students who wish to enrol in Year 7 or Year 11 at MacKillop, please be aware that applications are due on the following dates:

• Year 7, 2027: Friday 29 May 2026 at 5pm
• Year 11, 2027: Friday 3 July 2026 at 5pm (new students only)
