The College was blessed with warm spring weather for the MacKillop Day Mass and Celebrations on Friday 11 September.

MacKillop Day, which is the College’s annual celebration of the life and legacy of Mary MacKillop, is one of the highlights of the school year for both staff and students.

The event commenced with Mass at the Tuggeranong Basketball Stadium, followed by an afternoon of activities at the St Peter’s Campus.

The morning Mass was concelebrated by College Chaplain Fr Simon Falk and Fr John Armstrong, a past chaplain of the school who has returned to Tuggeranong as the Parish Priest of the St Anthony’s, Wanniassa. It was a moving occasion, with the College Choir helping to create a reflective, reverent, and celebratory mood.

In the afternoon, students went back to the St Peter’s Campus for the MacKillop Day celebrations. There were activities like the obstacle course, horizontal bungee, hair spray, sumo wrestling, carnival games, upbeat music, and a wide range of food and drink options. The winners of the College-wide INSPIRE Art Competition were also announced at the exhibition in F Block.

Following the activities, students went back to their PC classes, with the Padua Campus holding a PC auction and the St Peter’s Campus competing in a campus-wide quiz.

Congratulations to all students for bringing such a positive energy to the occasion, as well as the many staff who planned and prepared for the day.

It was another enjoyable community event for all involved!
