The Year 12 Formal

The Class of 2025 graduates!

The College’s Year 12 students celebrated the end of their MacKillop and high school journey at the Graduation Ceremony and Formal on Monday 1 December.

The event commenced with families and friends watching on as Year 12 arrived at the National Convention Centre in style, before entering the venue via the College’s special blue carpet and posing for photos.

The Graduation Ceremony commenced at 7pm, with guests able to watch on in the tiered seating of the Royal Theatre as each member of the Class of 2025 was presented with their Graduation Certificates and Portfolios. The names of our Perpetual Award recipients, which had been presented at the Graduation Mass in the morning, were also announced.

After the formal proceedings, students sat down for a three-course meal. They then hit the dance floor, gathered at the photo booths, and made sure to enjoy each other’s company in their final moments together as a year group. To conclude the event, the entire cohort got up to do a choreographed dance to the final song.

The College thanks the large team of staff, led by Year 12 Coordinators Belinda Fox and Peter Johnson, who organised the Formal, and congratulates the students of Year 12 for getting into the spirit of the night.

We hope it was an enjoyable evening that you’ll remember for years to come!

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
