Celebrating the end of 2023

The 2023 academic year comes to a close

The College wrapped up the 2023 academic year with a number of different assemblies, masses and celebrations in November and December.

Our Senior students were the first year groups to conclude for 2023, with Year 11 and 12 finishing at the end of exam week on 17 November. Year 12 came back on Friday 1 December to celebrate their Graduation Mass and Perpetual Award ceremony in the morning and the Graduation and Formal in the evening.

Year 10 students participated in a special program after their formal assessment had been completed, taking part in events like the Sport and Leadership program, Reflection Day, Charity Day, and Community Day at Big Splash. Year 10 then celebrated their final day on Tuesday 28 November with their Awards Assembly, PC picnics, a liturgy, and a talent show.

Padua Campus students also spent a day at Big Splash on Wednesday 6 December before concluding Term 4 the following day. Students in Years 7-9 also had an Awards Assembly, an end of year Mass, and a number of presentations and activities.

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
