Graduation Mass and Perpetual Awards

Graduation for the Class of 2023

The Class of 2023 celebrated its Graduation Mass in the morning of Friday 1 December at an event that included the presentation of the 2023 Perpetual Awards.

The Mass, which was held in the St Peter's Campus gymnasium, was celebrated by College Chaplain Fr James Antony, with the music provided by PCoPA and readings by the College Executive and Year 12 SRC. The congregation also had a special visitor in the form of Michael Lee, who visited from Melbourne to distribute communion to the Year 12 students.

To conclude the Mass, Acting Principal Lachlan McNicol addressed the audience and told the students of Year 12 that they have everything they need within them to lead successful and fulfilling lives, before wishing them well and providing them with a final blessing.

After Mass, several students were presented with the College's Perpetual Awards. These awards recognise the outstanding contribution the recipients have made to the College during their time with us.

Elite Athlete Awards were also presented to Ben Symington, Grace Lyons, Lewis Bell, Brianna Hosie, and Ty Pettersen.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023!

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
