Information Nights well attended

MacKillop hosted well over 2,000 visitors to the College in May at its information sessions for the 2017-2018 Enrolment Period.

Enrolment Period commenced on 1 May with the Year 7 2018 Information Night. After a presentation by Mr Lee, the staff and students of the Wanniassa Campus showcased the school to over 1,400 people through a series of tours and faculty displays.

On Friday 5 May, some 450 Year 6 students took part in Try MacKillop Day, where they tested out a number of subjects and lessons and mingled with the students who will make up Year 7 2018.

Finally, the Year 11 2018 Information Night at the Isabella Campus took place on 10 May. Run in conjunction with the Careers Expo, well over 600 people moved through the campus to look at the courses available to students in Years 11 and 12.

Congratulations to the staff and students at both campuses who led the organisation of the events and who ensured that all sessions were successful and informative. It’s great to know there’s so much interest in MacKillop!

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
