Year 11 students Phoebe Vassallo and David Reyes have been named the 2025 College Captains following the SRC Elections at the St Peter’s Campus.
The election, held on Wednesday 25 September, saw 34 candidates present their case as they hoped to be elected to one of seven positions on offer.
The standard of candidates was extremely high and the College congratulates them on the way they approached the application process. Each student attended a workshop, completed a written application, and attended an interview before delivering their speech to the St Peter’s Campus on the day of elections.
The results in each category were close, with many positions going down to final preferences before a winner could be decided. For some positions, the outcome was decided by only a couple of votes.
The College congratulates the successful candidates:
Congratulations to all candidates, particularly the seven students who were successful in gaining a leadership role. Our 2025 College Captains and Portfolio Captains will form a very high-quality leadership team. We wish them the best of luck for 2025!

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”
With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
