MacKillop hosted the Catholic Education Recognition of Excellence Awards Dinner on Friday 10 March, where teachers and support staff from around the Archdiocese were recognised for their achievements.
This year was MacKillop’s turn to host the awards dinner, and this was done in Café Bella at the Isabella Campus. Some 60 staff and students, under the guidance of Mrs Janelle Maas, were involved in providing the meal, music, light and sound, and ushering guests through our campus.
The College was pleased to receive very positive remarks from the guests, many of whom were recipients of awards for outstanding contribution to Catholic Education. The highest point of praise was for the quality of the meal and, more importantly, the confident and welcoming nature of our students.
Congratulations to MacKillop award winners Louise Davidson, Di Lovekin, Trevor Fritzlaff, and Bernie Sullivan, and to teachers Joel Coates and Hannah Baillie who were inducted into Catholic Education at the Mass. This was a real highlight of MacKillop’s calendar for Term 1.

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”
With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
