Welcome back to Term 4!

MacKillop welcomed a number of Year 12 students back to campus as Term 4 commenced on Tuesday 5 October.

With the ACT Government allowing Year 12 students to return to on-campus learning, MacKillop provided the Class of 2021 with the option of continuing their learning from home or returning to school.

Many Year 12 students opted to return, attending school in person for the first time since the ACT lockdown was announced on 12 August.

It was very different this time, with compulsory mask-wearing, social distancing in and outside the classroom, and a number of protocols for students to follow to ensure their safety.

The College also welcomed Years 7-11 in an online capacity as they continued with remote learning to commence Term 4.

The rest of the school is expected to return in the following order:

  • Year 11 – Monday 18 October
  • Years 9 and 10 – Monday 25 October
  • Years 7 and 8 – Monday 1 November

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
